The Turning
Finding the heart's true home. Today's offering is a poem to inspire you during hard times. Thank you for reading.
These Small Things
There was no Letter from Divine Love today
There is insomnia and indigestion
There is chronic hip and knee pain
And a new twitch in the left eye.
The anxiety lurks, waiting to pounce like a cat (or is it a cougar?)
patient
calculating the opportune moment
But wasn't there warm hugs this morning?
A clear view of the Big Dipper last night?
A kind voice asking which tea, my love, out of the current assortment of boxes upon boxes, kinda embarrassing how many boxes of tea you possess,
but never a rude comment from you,
And loving hands bringing me the mug of chai?
And friends who offers a walk in the woods
And family sending heart emojis
And that sweet card that came the other day
And laughter and food and friends while admiring their personal Garden of Eden
And the birds near
And the birds far
Always singing in harmony
Who holds the pitch pipe?
How did you all decide to sing in tune?
It's all so much joy,
These small things
That it almost eradicates the pain of life,
the walking around in this fragile
shell of flesh
smiling
listening to bird song
cherishing my life with you.

Yes, its the birds singing in harmony! Getting outside amongst the sights and smells of nature plus walking is the answer for me.
